
Japan and United Nations Launch Joint Project to Support Afghan Women
The Embassy of Japan in Kabul has announced the launch of a joint project with UN Women worth $826,666 to support women returning to Afghanistan.
Isteqamat Press – the project, introduced today (February 22), will be implemented in eastern and southern provinces of the country. It aims to provide returning women from Iran and Pakistan with access to livelihood services, financial assistance, and protection services.
The primary objective of the initiative is to help these women reintegrate into normal life amid current challenging conditions, marked by widespread restrictions on women’s work, education, and social participation.
