Hamas: US Ambassador’s Remarks a Warning Bell for Arab and Muslim Security

The Hamas movement has described remarks by Mike Huckabee, the United States ambassador to Israel, as a serious warning bell for the entire Arab and Islamic region. The group said the comments reflect what it called the colonial mindset of Zionism and Washington’s overt support for the expansionist policies of the Israeli regime.

Isteqamat Press – Hamas said in a statement issued Saturday (February 21) that Huckabee’s claim that it would be “acceptable” for Israel to control lands stretching “from the Nile to the Euphrates,” based on what it described as biblical illusions, constitutes a blatant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the sovereignty of regional states. The group warned that such statements pose a direct threat to Arab and Islamic national security.

Hamas called on leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to move beyond verbal condemnations and adopt firm and practical measures to isolate what it described as the occupying power and thwart its alleged annexationist and conspiratorial plans. It stressed that such “provocative” remarks would not legitimize occupation.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement also condemned the comments, describing them as a reflection of what it called the United States’ biased policy and the entrenched Zionist current within its political structure. The group warned that the threat of Zionism extends beyond Palestine and targets all Arab and Islamic countries.

Huckabee made the remarks on Friday (February 20) in an interview with Tucker Carlson, claiming that if Israel were to gain control over a vast region from the Nile to the Euphrates, it would be “good” and “acceptable.” The comments sparked widespread condemnation from Arab and Islamic countries, as well as from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, further heightening regional tensions.
