Russian Official: Global Cooperation Essential to Prevent World War III
The Special Envoy of the Russian President and Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has called for joint international efforts to reduce the risk of World War III.
Istiqamat Press – Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president’s special envoy, wrote in a message on X: “We must work together to reduce the risks of World War III.”
His remarks were made in response to the results of a survey published by the New York Post, which showed that a majority of citizens in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France believe that World War III could begin within the next five years, underscoring growing public concern over escalating global tensions.
Dmitriev, who frequently engages with Western counterparts on economic and diplomatic matters, shared the message alongside a peace symbol and stressed the importance of constructive dialogue to prevent catastrophe.
The statement comes as Ukraine peace negotiations continue and efforts to ease nuclear tensions remain underway, with the international community increasingly concerned about the potential expansion of global conflicts.
